Mower Production Capacities in the Real World

An acre is 43,560 square feet (4,840 square yards).  As you browse turf equipment, you will sometimes see top speeds and "acres per hour" estimates.  While today's zero-turn mowers boast impressive speed and maneuverability (especially the high-quality mowers from Country Clipper), we want our customers to understand what to expect in the real world where it really matters -- your lawn.

After all, you are not likely to be mowing at full forward speed, with no turning, for miles and miles at a time.  Actual mowing time depends on the cutting width of your mower, the speed at which you can actually mow effectively, and how much turning you do on your property.

The chart below was developed to give a real-world estimate of what to expect from various size and speed combinations.  As always, Smith's A-1 Lawn Equipment welcomes your questions and is ready to help you make the best choice for your specific property.
